Obituary for Gaetano (Tommy) A. Sacco

Gaetano (Tommy) A. Sacco, 83 of Enfield, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at Mercy Medical Ctr., Springfield, MA. Born on December 13, 1938 in Enfield, CT to the late Alexander M. and Maria (Rossi) Sacco. He was a lifelong resident of Enfield. He served our country proudly with the U.S. Army. Tommy career as a road construction labor with the Union found him working many different locations in the area, having retired many years ago. He spent many hours maintaining his fig trees and vegetable garden. Up until a couple years ago, he would make an annual trip to Italy to visit family, as well as trip to Florida to visit his brother Mario. Tommy was a member of the Tanguay-MaGill Post 80 American Legion, Enfield and a loyal and dedicated member of the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Society, Enfield.
Tommy is survived by two brothers Luke Sacco of Greensburg, PA and Mario Sacco of Pensacola, FL, a sister Catherine “Cathy” (Sacco) Sperrazza of Enfield, and a sister-in-law Dolores Sacco of Newington, along with 9 nieces and nephews and their families, several cousins, and friends. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Constantino (Peppy) Sacco.
Relatives and friend are welcome to join his family during calling hours on Thursday, September 29, 2022 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Browne Memorial Chapels, Enfield. Funeral services will take place on Friday, September 30, 2022 with the funeral procession forming at the funeral home for 9:00 am to St. Patrick Church (St. Raymond of Penafort Parish) for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 am. Interment will follow with military honors in St. Patrick King St. Cemetery, Enfield.
