Obituary for Gail A. Downes (Provencher)
Gail A. (Provencher) Downes, 73, of S. Dennis, MA entered into eternal rest on Sunday, September 18, 2022, at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston, MA. She was born August 10, 1949 in Springfield, MA to the late Thomas and Lucine (Croteau) Provencher.
Gail had resided in Enfield most of her life, as well as Somers and recently S. Dennis, MA.
She was the former owner & operator of Rockville Florist in Vernon, CT.
Gail is survived by her son Thomas J. Downes & companion Amanda De Oliveira of Dennis, MA and her daughter Erin Downes of Germany, two beloved grandchildren Abigail and Ashton Downes both of Dennis, MA. She is also survived by two sisters Marlene Raiche & husband Richard and Robyn Taylor & husband William all of Enfield, nieces Lisa Gladysz of Somers and Kristin Raiche of Broad Brook, along with her beloved dog “Bella” (a miniature Pinscher).
Relatives and friends can gather with her family on Tuesday, September 27, 2022 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM, followed by a Prayer Service at Browne Memorial Chapels, Enfield. Interment will take place in St. Patrick’s King Street Cemetery, Enfield. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to MSPCA, Dakin Humane Society 171 Union St. Springfield, MA 01105.
