Obituary for George Brassard

George C. Brassard, 74, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, October 21, 2021. George was born in Springfield, MA on July 5, 1947. He resided in Enfield for most of his life and had worked for the State of Connecticut Department of Corrections for twenty-two years, before his retirement. After retiring, he and his wife founded their catering business, Lizabeth George Catering until 2018. George served his country honorably in the United States Army in the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Thompsonville Moose Lodge # 1525 and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 50. George loved to travel and he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was known for his quick sense of humor and was loved and respected by his many friends that will miss him dearly. George is survived by his loving family, his wife Betty, his mother Rose, his sister Nancy Brassard-White and her husband Michael of Newington, a son, George R. Brassard and his wife Kim of Alltmar, NY, a daughter, Melissa Kornick and her husband Jason of Enfield, his grandchildren, Adam, John Jr., Tannor, Madison, Ella and Cooper, a step-son, David Rancourt of Enfield, two step-daughters, Victoria Hoppi and her husband Chris of Bronston, KY, Marcy Rancourt of Enfield, his step-grandchildren, Spencer, Brady, Drew, Joselyna, Angelina, two uncles, Charles LaFountain of Somers, James LaFountain and his wife Janet of Enfield, brothers, Chris LaFountain and his wife Brandy of Oakland, MI, Alex LaFountain and his wife Lori of West Bloomfield, MI, Mick LaFountain of Southfield, MI, and sister, Yvonne LaFountain from MI, several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his birth father, Alex LaFountain and his adopted father, Roland Brassard, a brother, Pierri LaFountain and a sister, Yvette. The funeral service will be Thursday, October 28, 2021 at 11am at the Browne Memorial Chapels, 43 Shaker Road, Enfield. Burial to follow at St Patrick’s King Street Cemetery with Military Honors.
