Gloria M. (Wojtyna) Shephard, 74, of Enfield, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, April 6, 2023. She was the beloved wife of 52 years to Raymond E. Shephard, whom passed recently on July l5, 2022. Born on September 25, 1948 in Hartford, CT to the late Andrew and Mary (Marowski) Wojtyna. She had resided in Enfield for the past 36 years and in Manchester before that. Prior to retiring, Gloria was employed for many years with the Windsor Public School System.
In her leisure time she enjoyed watching Court TV, playing various games, had a passion for animals, traveling to Tennessee and Florida, and spending time with family and friends especially during the holidays.
Gloria is survived by her loving daughter and son-in-law, Melanie & Christopher Commo of Stafford Springs, her brother Wesley Wojtyna, of Enfield and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Gloria was predeceased by two brothers, Donald and Frank Wojtyna.
There will be a visitation hour on Tuesday, April 11, from 9:00 to 10:00 am, followed by a Prayer Service at Browne Memorial Chapels, Enfield. Burial will then take place at 11:00 am in the Massachusetts Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery 1390 Main St. Agawam, MA where she will be laid to rest with her husband Raymond. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the APCA of Connecticut, 359 Spring Hill Rd, Monroe, CT 06468.
