ENFIELD – Helen (Stadnicki) Waskiel, 90, of Enfield, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at Evergreen Nursing Home. Helen was the beloved wife of the late Ervin C. Waskiel who predeceased her in 2009. She was born in November 16, 1929 in Chicopee, MA, the daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine (Bobala) Stadnicki and had resided in Enfield for the past sixty years. Helen worked at Kosciuszko Junior High School for many years. She was an avid gardener, crafter and traveler who enjoyed going to tag sales with her husband and later with her dear friend and neighbor, Joan M. Targonski. She cherished time spent with her family and was a parishioner of St. Martha’s Church. Helen is survived by a daughter, Susan Howard and her husband, Bruce of Chicopee, a son, James Waskiel of Denmark, four grandchildren, Gabriella, Helena, Juliane and Tobias Waskiel, two step-grandchildren, Gregory of CT and Geoffrey and his wife Christina of Springfield. She is also survived by two great granddaughters, Cadence and Danica, and a sister, Marcella Taskey of West Springfield. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a son, Ervin C. Waskiel, Jr., two brothers, Adolph Stadnicki and Thaddeus Stadnicki, and a sister, Emily J. Szlosek. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday, November 5, 2020 at St. Martha Church, 214 Brainard Road, Enfield. Visitation will take place prior to the services from 9 to 10:30 AM at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, 43 Shaker Road, Enfield, CT.
