Obituary for Ignatius "Iggy" J. Maniscalco

Ignatius “Iggy” J. Maniscalco, 90, of Enfield, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, June 27, 2023. He was the husband of 55 years to the late Carol L. (Jolly) Maniscalco. Ignatius was born on Sept. 7, 1932 in Springfield, MA, the son of the late Salvatore and Angela Maniscalco. He was a lifelong resident of Enfield and a graduate of Cathedral H.S., Springfield, MA. He enlisted into the U.S. Army and served his country proudly from 1951 to 1953 during the Korean War. Prior to retiring Iggy was employed as a letter carrier with the U.S. Postal Service for 32 years and a State Marshal with the State of Connecticut for 15 years. In his leisure time he enjoyed golfing, reading and time spent with family and friends, he was a parishioner of St. Patrick Church and the John Maciolek Post 154, American Legion, Enfield. The family would especially like to thank Bebe and Danny for their friendship and support.
Iggy is survived by his daughter Cheryl Bohuckyj & husband Doug Deal of Somers, CT, Michael Maniscalco of Swampscot, MA and Mark Maniscalco & his wife Colleen of Punta Gorda, FL, his two grandsons Michael S. Bohckyj and Eliot M. Powers-Maniscalco, as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, he was also predeceased by three sisters, Sadi Deni, Carmelina Scavatto, and Lucy Lucci. Besides his wife and parents, he was predeceased by a daughter-in-law Peggy Powers.
Funeral services for Iggy will be private at the family’s convenience. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s King St. Cemetery, Enfield.
