Irene M. (Wolodko) DiMattia, 84, of Enfield, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, January 27, 2022 in the comfort of her home. She was the beloved wife of 40 years to Gerald M. DiMattia. Born on October 21, 1937 to the late Edward and Agnes (Carenzo) Wolodko and was a life-long resident. She was a graduate of Enfield High School. Irene retired from Williams Engineering after 25 years of service as a bookkeeper. She will always be remembered for her loving and caring heart, kindness and generosity. Her great sense of humor and laugh lit up the room. She loved cooking and decorating for the holidays. Irene opened her heart and home to all and she will be dearly missed.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her loving daughter Andrea M. DiMattia of Enfield, two step daughters Patricia DiMattia Landis (Howard) of NJ, and Michele A. DiMattia of Enfield, her four cherished grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, her brother Joseph Wolodko & his wife Linda of Enfield, a brother-in-law Paul Williams of Enfield, as well as 9 nieces & nephews, and cousins. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter Donna M. Gabinski, a sister Elaine Williams and a brother David Wolodko.
Friends may gather with family and relatives on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm followed by a Prayer Service at Browne Memorial Chapels, Enfield. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
