Obituary for Joanne G. DeLorge (Maleski)

With great sorrow, the DeLorge family announces that Joanne DeLorge entered into eternal peace on May 10th, 2023 surrounded by family at her side. Joanne was born on January 24th, 1945 to Edward and Blanch Maleski. Although Joanne traveled to different states to live, her heart always brought her back to Connecticut where her family lives. She is survived by her sister Barbara Dawson, her two sons, with whom she raised with the beloved late Richard DeLorge, Scott and Kevin DeLorge, two daughter in-laws, Kim and Michelle DeLorge, her four grandchildren, Cori DiStazio, Casi DeLorge, Brooke and Kevin Jr. DeLorge. Joanne was also graced with three great grandchildren, Luca, Rickey, and Beckham. Joanne is predeceased by her eldest son, Brian DeLorge.
Joanne was steadfast in her beliefs, always up for a laugh, and loved a Dunkin coffee being dropped off for her. Anytime her family visited there was always a shiny new item displayed she purchased on a T.V. Shopping network. Joanne had a unique taste for decorating and often had her grandchildren and their spouses to help her vision come to life. Sometimes, without Joanne knowing, her grandchildren would have some fun and hide a stuffed rooster in her home. Often, someone would receive a phone call hearing her laughter, wondering where the rooster went, and of course, everyone plead their innocence.
During her time living in Pennsylvania, Joanne made one of the best decisions and rescued her four-legged son, Baxter. Baxter and Joanne were inseparable. She loved him with her whole heart and made sure that he lived the absolute best life that he could.
In her later years, Joanne developed a community of friends that she enjoyed being with. She became the center of many laughs, and time spent outside chatting.
Despite the many challenges life brings, Joanne was a wonderful mother, and grandmother. She is loved immensely, and will be greatly missed.
Relatives and friends may gather with her and her family Friday, May 19th from 4:00 - 8:00 at Browne’s Memorial Funeral Chapels. The burial will take place at the convenience of her family.
