Obituary for John E. Manning

John E. Manning, 90, of Enfield, entered into eternal rest on Monday, November 15, 2021 at Johnson Memorial Hospital, Stafford Springs, CT. He was the beloved husband of 58 years to the late Laura T. (Therrien) Manning. Born on May 18, 1931 in Hartford, CT to the late Michael and Mary (Giles) Manning. He had resided in Enfield for the past 53 years. John served his country proudly with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Prior to retiring in 1990, John was employed with the former Hamilton Standard/Sundstrand for thirty-six years. He was a parishioner of St. Bernard Church, Enfield, a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #50 and the Rev. William Kilcoyne Assembly 4th Degree, former member of Holy Name Society, and former Service Officer of the Soldiers, Sailors and Marines, and volunteered countless hours at St. Joseph’s Residence/Little Sisters of the Poor.
John is survived by his three loving daughters, Debra M. Edwards of Farmington, Kathleen E. Martini & husband Thomas of Enfield, and Maureen M. Gagne of Somers, his five beloved grandchildren: Timothy Martini, Peter Martini, Sara Martin, Kaitlin Gagne and Megan Gagne,
Funeral services for John will be held on Monday, November 22, 2021 at Browne Memorial Chapels, Enfield with a visitation period from 9:00 to 11:00 am, followed by a service at the funeral home with E. J. Sweeney officiating. Burial will then take place in St. Bernard Cemetery, Enfield with military honors.
