John Thomas Porcello, 83, of Enfield, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, October 9, 2018.
He was the beloved husband of 57 years to Dolores C. (Kagan) Porcello. Born in the Thompsonville section of Enfield on March 27, 1935, son of the late Elio and Colodra (Patronogio) Porcello and was a lifelong resident of Enfield. He attended school locally and was a graduate of Enfield H.S. Class of 1957. John then enlisted into the service and was a member of the U.S. Army. Prior to retiring John was employed with Della Construction, Co for 24 years and with Mather Construction. Having enjoyed basketball, baseball and softball, an avid sports fan especially of the Red Sox and Celtics, he was a bowling coach and teacher, he was secretary/ treasurer of Shaker Commercial Bowling League for many years and started the Enfield Rec Basketball org.
In addition to his wife, John is survived by his three children, Keith Porcello & wife Diane of Chicopee, MA, Nancy Hunter & husband Mark of Pawcatuck, CT, and Karl Porcello & Pam Moriarty of Manchester, NH, his beloved grandchildren, Kent, Kayci, Kristin, Matthew and Kaleb, and great grandchild, Elia, along with many nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his siblings, James, Angie, Agnes, Lillian, Gena, Charlie, Mary, Anthony, Ida and Nancy.
Relatives and friends may gather with his family on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2018 from 10 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by a Memorial Service at 12:00 p.m. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to your favorite charity.
