John Thomas Cardarella, 82, of Enfield, entered into eternal rest on Monday, March 13, 2023 with loved ones at his side. He was the beloved husband of Irene Margaret (Coyle) Cardarella. Born on April 30, 1940 in Springfield, MA, a son of the late Anthony N. and Anna L. (Ragno) Cardarella. He had resided in Enfield for the past 82 years. He attended Brainard School and a graduate of Enfield H.S., then furthered his education receiving a Bachelor’s Degree from Central CT State University and a Master’s Degree from University of Hartford. Prior to retiring in 2000 John was a teacher for 33 years, with Hartford Public Schools from 1967 – 1971, and then with the Enfield Public Schools from 1971 – 2000. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, photography, reading, woodworking, and time spent with the grandchildren. John was a member of the Enfield Sportsman Club, Hartford Gun Club and CT Association of Realtors.
In addition to his loving wife Irene, John is survived by his children; Linda Hellberg and husband Michael of Windsor Locks, Anthony Cardarella of Enfield, and Christie Love and husband Michael of Enfield, his beloved grandchildren; Victoria Hellberg, Daphne Love, Callum Love, and Hadley Love, his cherished great-grandchild Corey Goodrow. He is also survived by his brother Thomas Cardarella and wife Germaine of Enfield, two nieces Michele and Nicole, as well as an aunt, uncles and many cousins.
Relatives and friends may join with his family during calling hours on Friday, March 17, 2023 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm with a Prayer Service at 7:30 pm at Browne Memorial Chapels, Enfield. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
