Obituary for John William Maznicki

John Maznicki (aka; Gramps, the Polish Prince and "Uncle John") 85 of Enfield, CT peacefully passed away leaving behind a legacy of love and devotion. For 67 years, John was married to his beloved wife, Eileen (Pinto) Maznicki. John was a dedicated family man, cherishing his eight children; Mary (Stuart) Sanborn, Joanne (Michael) Hohn, John Maznicki, Jr, Peter Maznicki, Steven Maznicki, Denise (Thomas) Keller, Janice (Thomas) Cerrato and Matthew (Jill) Maznicki. His family circle expanded to include 22 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, each one a testament to his love and care. He leaves his brother Billy (Cindy) Maznicki and sister MaryAnn Webster. He is predeceased by his mother and father William and Violet Maznicki and his sister, Violet Peabody.

John was renowned for his boundless love and dedication to his family, considering them the cornerstone of his existence. He was a hardworking and kind-hearted individual who dedicated his life to providing for and nurturing his large family. John has a remarkable ability to bring smiles to people's faces, and his warm and generous spirit touched the lives of all who knew him.

John was a founding member of Holy Family Church which was the cornerstone of his strong Catholic faith. John was the president of the Men's Club, coach of the baseball team and Religious Education teacher. John also had a passion for sports, particularly UCONN Basketball, the NY Giants and the Boston Red Sox. His love for sports brought him joy adding to the richness of his life.

John will be remembered as a "legend" in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His absence will be deeply felt, but his memory will continue to live on through the love and fond memories he leaves behind.

Calling hours will be on Thursday, March 21 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Browne Memorial Chapels, Enfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Jeanne Jugan Parish/Holy Family Church on Friday, March 22 at 11:00am (Meet at Church), followed by Interment in Hazardville Cemetery, Enfield.
