Jonathan James Ashworth Reidy, 30, of Enfield CT passed away unexpectedly, at his home on Tuesday, July 5th, 2022. Jonathon was born October 30th, 1991 in Springfield MA. He graduated from Enfield High School in 2009.
He leaves behind his mother, Colleen Ann Reidy (Jeff Cross) of Enfield, CT. Father, Barry Ashworth (Debbie) of Enfield CT. Siblings; Chris Reidy, Andrew Cross, Sasha Miller (Racheal), Chelsi Kohler, his nieces Areyah and Daijah Spicer and nephews Tristen and Teegan Miller, all of Enfield, CT. Grandmother, Dorothy Reidy of Springfield, MA. Grandfather Norman Gould of Enfield, CT, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends that loved him dearly. He is predeceased by his great grandfather Charles M. Reidy, grandparents, Jim and Claire Ashworth of Springfield, MA, Rachel Gould of Florida, and his niece, Delaney Miller of Enfield, CT.
Jon loved all animals and wanted to adopt every one that he saw. With a love of food, he found his way around the kitchen spreading his love through peoples stomachs. He had a great passion for music, video games, Boston Celtics and the Boston Bruins. His smile and infectious laugh could light up an entire room. Jon had a heart of gold, never hesitating to help people out. Because he was a big kid at heart, his nieces, nephews and children of his close friends adored him. He would play with every child he came across. He was known for his friendliness and never hesitated to let people know that he loved them. Jon believed strongly in second chances. He believed in going after greatness. He would want to be remembered for all of the good in this world and to not give up fighting for a second chance at life. Jon lost his battle to his demons and his family wants you to be the voice for your loved ones if they are dealing with addiction. Silence would mean Jon’s death was in vain, but if one person’s life is saved by his story, we would tell it a million more times.
His family and friends will gather to remember him for all the love and passion he had on Thursday, July 14, 2022 from 9:00 to 11:00 am followed by a prayer service at Browne Memorial Chapels, Enfield. Burial will take place in the West Cemetery, Somers, CT. ….
In lieu of flowers the family would like your support in donations to Outrun addiction, P.O. BOX 535 • Enfield, CT 06083.
