My heartfelt condolences for your loss of a truly beautiful man . I was chosen by Joe in 1981 to be the special education teacher at Henry Barnard School. I thank him for hiring me because Barnard staff became family and we still get together all these years later. I have treasured memories of him. Joe , you have your angel wings. Always in my heart.

Dear John, George, Paul, Mary and Joanne- I was deeply saddened to learn of the loss of your dad. He was truly a gentleman who loved his family and friends dearly. I was a teacher under his leadership from 1977 until his retirement in 1988. He loved being principal but was not in it for the power- it was about the students, parents and staff. He trusted and respected his staff. I have so many fond memories over the years. While he deeply loved all of you and his beloved Rose, our staff became his Barnard family. I know his legacy lives on in all the lives he has touched and, yes, he endures forever in our hearts. Sincerely, Elizabeth Trapanese Patria

his staff became his "Barnard family." It was my priviledge working for him. He has left a beautiful legacy in his family and all the lives he has touched. Yes- you are right- he endures forever in our hearts. God Bless. Sincerely, Elizabeth Trapanese Patria

To the Family of Joseph Lombardo: In the Bible at Psalms 90:10 it refers to those who live well into their 70’s or 80’s as being ‘especially strong.’ Your beloved was blessed with this strength. May that strength trickle down to family and friends helping you to cope in the days ahead. Soon there will be a time when age will not be a factor, as promised in the Bible at Psalms 92:14. Until then, hold your memories close and lean on God for ‘everlasting comfort and good hope’ 2 Thessalonians 2:16, 17, for he is close to those ‘brokenhearted’ Psalm 34:18. My deepest sympathy.
