Obituary for Joseph Lombardo

ENFIELD – Joseph Lombardo, 94, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at home. Born in Brooklyn, NY, son of the late John and Mary (DiCaro) Lombardo, he lived in Enfield for many years. Joseph had a Master’s Degree in Education and was the retired principal of Henry Barnard School for many years, and also taught sixth grade elementary school. He retired in 1988 after nineteen years in the education field. He also volunteered at the Little Sisters of the Poor, Big Brothers and was a literacy volunteer. He was a World War II army veteran. His wife, Rose (George) Lombardo died in 1995. He leaves three sons, John V. Lombardo, George J. Lombardo both of Enfield, Paul S. and his wife Kate Lombardo of England, two daughters, Mary J. Robinson of Indian Rocks Beach, FL, Joanne M. and her husband William Bagge of East Longmeadow, eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The funeral will be Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2019 at 10:15am from the Browne Memorial Chapels, 43 Shaker Road, Enfield, followed by a Mass at 11:30 at St. Michael’s Church, 128 Maple Street, East Longmeadow, MA with burial in St. Patrick’s King Street Cemetery, Enfield. Calling hours are Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2019 at the funeral home from 4-7pm.
