Obituary for Joseph F. Wolodko

Joseph F. Wolodko, 77 of Enfield, passed away Wednesday morning, June 29 with his devoted wife and three daughters by his side. He was married to his longtime love, Linda Wolodko (Carrigan) for 53 years.
He was born on September 6, 1944, to the late Edward and Agnes (Carenzo) Wolodko and he was a life-long resident of Enfield. He grew up on their family farm, learning to drive a tractor at the young age of 6. He loved bragging to his daughters that he was the “youngest and fastest bean- picker on the farm.” As an adult, he became a realtor and over the next 40 years listed and sold many homes in the Enfield area.
Joe loved hunting and fishing and will miss his home away from home, at his camp in the Berkshires. He had many close friends who he considered family there. Anyone who knew Joe knew what a fantastic cook he was. He was always trying to feed everyone. He was especially known for his galumpkis and pierogis. He loved cooking and baking especially with his grandchildren Maddy & James, who he spent many weekends with.
Joseph is also survived by his daughters, Michelle Bean and her husband Craig of Enfield, Jolyn Manafort and her husband James of Farmington, CT and his youngest daughter, Jill Wolodko of Enfield. In addition, he leaves behind his brother in-law Gerald M. DiMattia of Enfield, and Paul Williams, of Enfield as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless loyal friends, who were all very special to him. Besides his parents Joseph was predeceased by his sister Irene DiMattia, his sister Elaine Williams and his brother David Wolodko.
Joe was a great father, grandfather, uncle and friend to so many people. He will always be remembered for the way he told a story, his sense of humor and his big heart. He will truly be missed by all. His family would like to thank Masonicare, Hospice Care, and all of the nurses, physical therapists, and aides that provided him with such wonderful care throughout his illness.
Joseph’s family will receive relatives and friends during calling hours on Tuesday, July 5, 2022 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Browne Memorial Chapels, 43 Shaker Road Enfield.
