Obituary for Judith Ann Sauve-Reed

Judith A. (Simpson) Sauvé-Reed, 85, of Enfield, passed from her earthy journey to eternal rest in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loved ones on Sunday, April 16, 2023. With courage and determination, Judith spent the last 3 and a half years battling cancer until it was just too much to bare but if you know Judy, she went out on her own terms! She was the beloved wife of her late husband Robert E Sauve’ of 23 years. She then went on to marry her 2nd husband the late Loren E Reed of 30 years. Judith was also the daughter on the late George and Rosalie (Meunier) Simpson.
Judith was born on May 10, 1937 in Holyoke MA. She was a graduate of Enfield High School and then later attended the Springfield Technical Community College, where she graduated with a degree in Nursing. Judith resided in Holyoke until she was a teen and then moved to Enfield CT. Upon retirement Judith and Loren resided in Barefoot Bay FL for 13 years before moving back to Enfield where she remained. Prior to retirement Judith was employed for several years at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Stafford Springs as an RN in oncology.
In her leisure time she enjoyed gardening, painting, drawing, adult coloring books done with an artist eye and always the professional artists pencils. As to her call to nature she was always drawn to the ocean waters and loved her family vacations to RI, Cape Cod and Seabrook, NH where she spent her summers but above all else was her love of reading. She was the only person we knew that actually wore out her kindle, not once but twice!
Judith is survived by her loving children, R. Scott Sauve’ and his wife Cynthia of New Burn, N.C., Heather Sauve’, Jennifer Sauve’, Hillary Gonyea and husband, Gerry, of Enfield, CT; her step-children, Holly Reed, Bradford Reed and wife, Susan, Jonathan Reed and wife, Elizabeth all of CA. Janice Buckelew and husband, James of CO. Matthew Reed and wife, Kathleen, of S.Windsor, CT. Carol Reed of Longmeadow MA who spent many Saturdays visiting Jude. Her brother Jon Simpson of Enfield CT. She was predeceased by her step-daughter Anne Reed-Sehon.
She is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren and extended family. She also leaves a very special friend of 65+ years Jan Marie Theroux who will miss her dearly.
At the convenience of the family a private memorial will be planned for a later date.
