Obituary for Larry G. DiNino

Larry G. DiNino, Sr., of Enfield, surrounded by his family he entered into eternal life at the age of 89 on Saturday, January 15, 2022. At St. Francis Hospital, Bartlett, TN. Larry was the beloved husband of the late Joan (Cunha) DiNino and son of the late Oscar, Sr. and Mary J. (Colangelo) DiNino and had resided in Enfield since 1973 and in Everett & Saugus, MA before that.
Larry proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. Larry was a railroad enthusiast and enjoyed watching trains roll through the countryside. Prior to retiring he was an airline mechanic for Northeast and Delta Airlines for 35 years. After retirement Larry spent many years traveling with his wife, visiting their children and grandchildren as well as attending bus trips as far as Branson MO and Savannah, GA with local Enfield Senior Groups. He was a beloved Boston Sports Fan, especially waiting for the Boston Bruins’ season to begin every fall. He also spent many years with fellow Railfans in the Enfield area building and running model trains as well as bird watching along the CT River canal trails. He also loved his time in front of the computer watching the many live Railfan Webcams across the USA and enjoyed greatly his twice a week poker games at the Enfield Senior Center.
Larry is survived by a daughter Joy McInnis & her husband Michael of Bartlett, TN, a son Larry G. DiNino, Jr. & his wife, Evelyn of New Tazwell, TN, a son Stephen DiNino & his wife Glenda of Huffman, TX, and a daughter Pamela Shultz & her husband Ted of Bartlett, TN, his three beloved grandchildren Larry G. DiNino, III, Anthony DiNino, Natalia (DiNino) Chappel and one Great Grandchild Larry G. DiNino IV. He is also survived by his siblings, Joseph DiNino of Stockbridge, GA, and Marlene DiNino of Everett, MA, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a brother Oscar DiNino and a grandson Rocco Weiss.
A visitation period from 12:00 to 1:00 pm followed by a Prayer Service at 1:00 pm will be held on Friday, April 8, 2022 at Browne Memorial Chapels, Enfield. Interment will then take place in the Massachusetts Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Agawam, MA with military honors. In lieu of flowers Larry had requested memorial donations be made to the Mystic Valley R.R. Society, Inc., P.O. Box 365486 Hyde Park, MA 02136-0009.
