Lauren Ann (Smith) Sherwood, 63, of Suffield passed from her earthly journey on Tuesday, November 19, 2019 in the comfort of her home with loved ones at her side. She was the beloved wife of 40 years to David G. Sherwood, loving mother of Rachel Sherwood of Windsor Locks, daughter of Mary (Millette) Smith of Barre, VT and the late Edward C. Smith, Sr. Born on March 7, 1956 in Montpelier, VT she resided in Suffield for the past 36 years and in Enfield before that. Lauren was a graduate of Enfield H.S. and STCC and retired as logistics manager with Kaman Music Corp. after more than 30 years of service. She was a voracious reader, enjoyed gardening, pilates & fitness, skiing, snow shoeing, hiking and kayaking.
In addition to her husband Dave, daughter Rachel and mother Mary, Lauren is also survived by her siblings Valerie Smith of S. Windsor, Edward C. Smith, Jr. of E. Windsor, Melanie Fitzpatrick of Pittsburg, PA, Jay Smith of Hopkinsville, KY and Tracy Smith of Berlin, VT, as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Relatives and friends may gather with Lauren’s family on Friday, November 22, 2019 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Browne Memorial Chapels, Enfield. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at the funeral home for 11:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 p.m. in Holy Family Church (St. Jeanne Jugan Parish) 23 Simon Rd.
