Obituary for Lewis A. Dighello, Jr.

Lewis A. Dighello, Jr., passed away with Nancy by his side on Friday, Novembet 4, 2022 at home, in Enfield, CT. Lewis was born in Albany, New York on March 29, 1952, son of Alena Jean (Wolfersdorf) Dighello of Enfield, CT and the late Lewis A Dighello, Sr. He was a resident of East Windsor, Suffield, Somers and Enfield. Lewis was passionate about living and enjoying life. His greatest love was for his wife of 43years, Nancy (Marquis) Dighello. Lewis attended East Windsor and Suffield High Schools, Springfield Technical and AsnuntuckCommunity Colleges. He began his employment at Mulnite Farms in East Windsor. He alsoworked at Scitico Market where he met his future bride. His work took an interesting turntoacareer in the automotive field, first for 10 years with Suffield Mobil, where he was always considered family. Lewis also held positions with Dominick’s Auto Parts, Enfield Auto Supply, NAPA (25 years), Carquest and Auto Part International until his retirement in 2014. Lewis was many things to many people. He was a mentor for anyone interested in learningabout the hobbies he loved and collected: trains, planes, motorcycles, slot cars (gas, electric&radio-controlled) and guitars. Lewis flew RC planes, helicopters, drones, rockets &kites. Watch & clock repairing was also one of his many skills. Lewis took great pride in his memberships with the following: Miniature Auto Racing Club (MARC), Northeast Radio Control Auto Racers (NERCAR), Northern Connecticut RadioControl Club (NCRCC), BSA Owners Club of New England, Radio Operated Auto Racing, Inc. (ROAR), L&N Mini Motor Speedway, American Clock & Watch Museum, East Windsor Historical Society, Yankee Territory Coinshooters (Metal Detection Club), RC Madness andDelta Manufacturing. Lewis was overwhelmed on August 27 th , 2022 when he received a Lifetime Achievement Awardwhich was presented to him by NCRCC to honor his dedication to mentorship in all types of hobbies including aircraft, automobiles and railroading. In addition to his wife, Lewis is also survived by his sister, Ann (Dighello) Balbi of Longmeadow, MA, and his aunt, Marie (Lambert-Infantino) Wolfersdorf, of East Windsor, CT, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and their families. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his aunt Evelyn Dighello and uncles Erwinand Westley Wolfersdorf. Special thanks are extended to Chris Marcy of RC Madness, the staff of Angelina’s Restaurant, 555 Hazard Ave., Enfield as well as all his very good neighbors, friends and relatives whomadeLewis’ life so special. Friends may gather to visit with the family on Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2022 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, 43 Shaker Rd., Enfield, CT. His Funeral will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, Nov. 10, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow in the Hazardville Cemetery, Elm St., in Enfield, CT.
