Obituary for Luis Fernando Baena

Luis Fernando Baena, 56 of Suffield, CT, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, August 14, 2022.
Luis is survived by his children Veronica Baena, and Andre Baena, his wife Luisa Fernanda, his grandchildren, Carson, Taytum, and Grace. His brother Juan Baena, his sister-in-law Syrma Baena, and their 3 children Syrma, Annie, and Alejandro. His Aunt Ligia Werner, and Uncle Karl Werner, and their children, Michael and Jeanna. He also leaves behind many extended family members in Colombia and the U.S.
Luis was born in San Jose California on June 23, 1966 to Amparo Baena, and Ariel Baena. He worked for the Department of Corrections for the State of Connecticut, and retired after 20 years of service.
Luis was full of life, he loved traveling, visiting his family in Colombia, fishing, listening and dancing to music, and overall made every moment count. He was a family man, and found joy in making anyone smile. Luis was the life of the party, he had a bright smile, and an animated personality. He embraced his role as a grandfather, and had so much love for his nieces and nephews. He spent his earlier years being the best father, and made sure his children had incredible memories growing up. He took any opportunity to visit the beach, just to feel the rush of the waves, and calm atmosphere. Luis had a big heart, and had so much love to give, not only to people, but to animals. He spent his free time fostering dogs to give them a better home, and always showered them with love. He will now be reunited with his best friend Lucky the boxer in heaven. Luis’s compassionate, fun, loving personality will be greatly missed, and he will always be in our hearts.
A celebration of Luis’s life will be held on Wednesday, September 7, 2022 between the hours of 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm, including a Prayer Service at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels. 43 Shaker Rd, Enfield CT 06082. The family will take comfort in connecting with guests, family and friends, to share special memories of Luis’s life.
