Obituary for Marc E. Baumann

Marc Baumann, 36, of Enfield, CT, passed away on December 1st, 2022, leaving his family and loved ones in heartbreak. Born on September 6th, 1986, Marc had a huge heart and so much energy. You couldn’t slow this kid down - he loved life. He never met a stranger and got so much joy out of helping anyone he could.
Marc excelled at whatever he tried - BMX, baseball, snowboarding, motorsports, boating, training dogs, and especially getting girls to do his homework for him. He was so happy, funny, polite, handsome, and selfless. He was such a great son who made his parents very proud. Making friends was easy for Marc and sticking up for kids who were getting bullied in high school came naturally to him. Marc was a graduate of Enrico Fermi High School, Class of 2004.
An accident on a quad and a prescription for Oxycontin changed his life and the lives of the people who loved him. Our family is thankful for the times when Marc was sober while fighting his addiction. During these times, we had our Marc, back. We know that Marc's mind wanted so badly to live a healthy life, but his body was tired.
Marc loved entertaining his nieces and nephews. You could see the happiness radiating off him when he was around these kids. We will always remember the laughter and smile on Marc's face when he was in their presence.
Marc will forever be missed by his parents, Catherine & Ernest Baumann, sister, Nicole Baumann & her fiancé, Michael Boyd, nephews, Jackson, 2 (who adored his Uncle Marc and who lit up Marc's world) & Baby Cameron, all of Enfield, CT. Marc had a special bond with his "Auntie," Christine Steele of Enfield, CT, uncle, Jack Baumann of Dallas, TX, and leaves behind many other aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends, especially Lori O'Connell of Belchertown, MA and Andrea Dimattia of Enfield, CT. Marc was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Charles and Mary Baumann, maternal grandparents, Timothy and Jean McCarthy, and great aunt, Shirley Drinkwater.
Marc's presence was immense and now our heartbreak is. Our world looks so much different without him. We will always love you and miss you terribly, Marc.
The Baumann family will hold a celebration of life for Marc in the Spring.
