Marie J. Curcio (Hamilton) 79, was taken by the Lord’s hand on July 27, 2022. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She will certainly be remembered for her strong will and determination and it was that indeed, that brought her through three battles with cancer like a warrior. Regrettably, she succumbed to injuries she sustained in an auto accident, and the Lord took her home to be free of any more pain.
Marie first and foremost loved her Catholic faith, she attended mass regularly and prayed the rosary daily and raised her children with a strong religious foundation. She loved going on car rides with her husband, Rosario (Roy) trying different restaurants with him and an occasional trip to the casino. She loved to crochet, sew, cook and bake, especially Italian cookie trays for family functions. She loved to collect angels, go to yard sales, and loved to attend events for her grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband Rosario J. Curcio of 59 years. Three daughters Brenda Davenport and her husband Richard Davenport of Hampden Ma., daughter Linda Curcio of Lisbon, CT and daughter Laura Curcio-Rathbun of Enfield who is pre-deceased by her husband Charles Rathbun. Her beloved grandchildren, Michelle Curcio, Erica Bamberg, Richard Davenport, Brittany Beauregard, Ryan Rathbun, Ann Marie Barlow, Aaron Vincent, Nathaniel Davenport, Stephanie Rathbun, Shane Vincent, Victoria Davenport and Joe Davenport. Her Great Grandchildren, Alexia Trowbridge, Eric Beauregard, Mia Van Gildler, Chase Rathbun, Juliana Meunier, Lilah Beauregard, Aubrie Rathbun, Bailey Beauregard, Isla Davenport, Kaiden Rathbun, Averie Rathbun and Leo Davenport. Marie had 19 siblings, sisters Joyce, Judy Ann, Loretta, Beverly, Patty, Sylvia, Theresa, Irene, Pauline and Jeanette and brothers Jessie, Joe, Carl, Francis, Albert, Roy, Robert, Arthur, Bruno and numerous nieces and nephews who she truly loved.
Relatives and friends may gather with her family during calling hours on Wednesday, August 3, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Browne Memorial Chapels, Enfield. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, August 4, 2022 with the procession forming at 10:00 am from the funeral home to Holy Family Church 23 Simon Rd. Enfield for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in St. Patrick’s King St. Cemetery, Enfield.
