Obituary for Maureen A. Chamberlain (Angelo)

Maureen Chamberlain, age 78, beloved wife of Gene Chamberlain, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2023 at Baystate Medical Center after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Maureen was born in Hartford, CT to her parents Henry and Selma (Wopschall) Angelo. She grew up with her parents and two sisters Jean and Beverly in Bloomfield, CT. After marrying, Maureen and Gene settled in Enfield and raised their daughter, Laura. Maureen took great pride in caring for her home and decorating for the holidays. She enjoyed music and playing her guitar and organ and volunteering at Little Sisters of the Poor in Enfield. Maureen always remembered birthdays, anniversaries and special dates for all her family and friends and enjoyed picking out a special card to send.
Maureen is survived by her beloved husband of 58 years, Gene, who devoted himself to taking care of her throughout her illness. She also leaves to mourn her passing, her daughter Laura and son-in-law Leo Wisnesky along with her grandchildren Matthew (Olivia) Wisnesky, Adam (Grace) Wisnesky and Brooke (Nick) Veilleux and her great-granddaughter, Emery Veilleux. Maureen is also survived by her loving sister, Jean (Angelo) Bednarz and her nieces and nephew LeAnne, Debra and Mark and their families. Besides her parents, Maureen was predeceased by her sister Beverly Angelo and brother-in-law Robert Bednarz.
Relatives and friends may join her family during visitation on Monday, April 10, 2023 from 9:30 to 11:00 am, followed by a Prayer Service at Browne Memorial Chapels, Enfield. Interment will then take place in the Enfield Street Cemetery, Enfield. The family has requested memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, CT Chapter 200 Executive Blvd. Ste. 4B Southington, CT 06489.
