Michael D. Hull, 85, of Enfield, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, March 21, 2019 peacefully in the comfort of his home. He was the loving husband of Maria J. Hull-Cirurgiao, whom he married on Oct. 29, 2008. Michael was born on Nov. 30, 1933 in England to the late Frederick B. and Agnes S. (Burton) Hull and moved to the United States after WW II, having resided in Enfield for over 50 years. Michael was employed as a journalist with the Hartford Times, and retired from the Hartford Courant after many years of service. He enjoyed gathering WW II history and writing about it. Many of the articles he wrote have been published in the WW II Magazine and still published at the present time. Michael enjoyed working in his yard, watching the birds, was an avid reader and had a library of WW II history books.
Besides his wife Maria, he is also survived by a daughter Diana Hull of Wilbraham, MA, a step-daughter Janice Gilpin of Jacksonville of Florida, a brother Greg Hull of Ringwood Hanks, England and a sister Shirley A. Whiteman of Camberley Surrey, England, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours for Michael will be on Monday, March 25, 2019 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Browne Memorial Chapels, Enfield. Funeral Services will take place on Tuesday, March 26, 2019 9:00 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. in St. Martha Church 214 Brainard Rd. Enfield. Interment will be in the Hazardville Cemetery, Enfield. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the D.A.V. Enfield Chapter # 52, 43 Pearl St. Enfield, CT 06082.
