Obituary for Muriel Adele Russotto (Francoeur)

Muriel Adele (Francoeur) Russotto, beloved aunt, passed away peacefully in her residence at Duncaster in Bloomfield, CT on October 13, 2022, at the age of 100. Muriel was the wife of the late Samuel B. Russotto. Born in 1922 in Holyoke, MA to Elmer and Rita (Henderson) Francoeur, Muriel grew up in Springfield, MA and, after graduating from high school, attended American International College. She went on to earn her Master of Science degree in biology at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and worked at various hospitals throughout her life. After she and her husband, Sam, settled in Farmington, CT, she worked for many years at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford. Muriel will always be remembered for her beautiful smile, for her love of animals and knitting, for her classy sense of style, and especially for her generous spirit. She was always ready to help those in need, always asking “What can I do for you?”
Muriel is survived by her niece, Marie Lim (husband Eric) of Simsbury, CT, and their children, JJ and Amanda, both of CA; her nephews, Tony Russotto (wife Laura) of Burlington, CT, and Michael Russotto (partner Angel Torres-Cabassa) of Washington, DC; her nieces Cathleen Francoeur Morini of E. Longmeadow, MA, Linda L. Francoeur of E. Otis, MA, Cathy H. Wicykowski of Mission, KS, Patricia Coppolino (husband Anthony) of Arlington, VA and Teresa Russotto of Simsbury, CT; her nephew Phillip Russotto (wife Robyn) of Mechanicsburg, PA and their children, Lex and Brett; and grandnephews Adam W. Morini of San Antonio, TX, Christian J. Morini of S. Windsor, CT, Matthew Coppolino of Arlington, VA, and Eddie Donini of Milford, CT. She was predeceased by her parents, and her brother Wayne E. Francoeur of E. Longmeadow, MA.
Calling hours are Wed., October 19, 5:00 - 7:00 PM with funeral services following on Thursday, October 20, 10:00 AM, both at Browne Memorial Chapels in Enfield, CT. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to The Duncaster Foundation (www.duncaster.org/donate-to-duncaster/).
