Obituary for Nicholas Mitchell Browne

Nicholas, “Nick” Mitchell Browne, 37 of Suffield and Windermere, Fla entered into the peace of Our Lords infinite mercy on Tuesday October 4, 2022 where he was welcomed by many guardian angels, but especially his mother Cheryl “Cheri” Mitchell Browne.

He was born on Holy Thursday, April 4th 1985.
Throughout his childhood, he loved to go fishing with Dad, especially at local fishing derbies with the cub scouts and boy scouts of America, and at Sunrise Park in West Suffield. Nicholas had many friends in the neighborhood growing up where they often raced go carts and at one point built a snowboarding jump off the back of the house.

Nicholas was an entrepreneur and extremely resourceful - even as a child, having been busted for selling fireworks to his third-grade classmates and teachers at Spaulding School.

Nicholas raced motor cross throughout his teenage years and into his adult life at National Motor Cross race track in Southwick, MA. He had many dirt bikes, and was a very handy mechanic, always inter changing parts, and installing performance modifications.

As an avid snowboarder, Nicholas decided to make the move out to Colorado where one of his childhood best friends, Ashley was living in Summit County, where you can find some of the world’s best skiable powder. Nicholas lived and worked for many years for Copper Mountain as a Lift Maintenance Supervisor where he took a snowmobile to work every day and had a pet fox who lived under his deck.

Nicholas loved to cook and was a professional gourmet chef, having graduated from the Connecticut Culinary Institute and having worked for Walt Disney Resorts throughout his professional career. He was also a graduate of Mount Ida College in Boston, MA where he studied Funeral Directing.
He always enjoyed family gatherings, especially yearly vacations to Martha’s Vineyard or to Nantucket to see the Figawi sail boat race with his cousins. He also loved playing black jack and going to the casino. He was full of energy, loved life and was always up for an adventure.
Nicholas was an avid golfer since moving to Florida, where he had many successful matches with his brother BJ, and where they taught his sister Brielle how to golf.

Nick is survived by his father, J. Francis Browne III “Buddy” of Windermere, FL. He is also survived by his loving sister, Brielle and her husband Christopher Walsh of West Suffield CT; his brother J. Francis IV "BJ" of Suffield and Windermere, Fla. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, long list of cousins all of whom he was extremely close with especially Daniel Gagnon and many, many loving and close loyal friends, especially his childhood best friends, Luke Sheehan, Ashley O’Hara, Franco Russo, Jeff Moreau and Matt Cooper.

Nicholas had a charisma about him that made people melt like butter. He had the biggest heart, a smile that lit up a room and was so kind. He was so assertive and friendly, approachable and extremely intelligent. Nicholas's favorite thing to say was "Forget the past, you just have to put it behind you". He was not afraid to be honest about his shortcomings and his character and big heart will be missed by all.

Funeral services in celebration of Nicks life will be held on Saturday, October 15th, St. Patrick Church in Enfield for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in St. Patrick's King Street Cemetery. Please meet at church. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Tunnel To Towers 2361 Hylan Blvd. Statten Island, NY 10306.
