Obituary for Paul Stephen Bascom

LIVERPOOL, NY – Paul S. Bascom, 63, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, August 26, 2020 in Baystate Medical Center. Born in Holyoke, son of the late Lincoln and Eleanor (Vanderpoel) Bascom, he grew up in South Hadley and a was a 1975 graduate of South Hadley High School. He lived in Enfield and for many years lived in Madison, CT. Paul worked as a systems analyst at Fiserve in Glastonbury and previously worked for Southern New England Telephone in New Haven. He was former member of the Knights of Columbus in New Haven and a communicant of St. Laurence Chapel in South Windsor, CT. He leaves his wife of thirty-one years, Mary E. (Smyth) Bascom, a step-daughter and her husband, Elizabeth and Joshua Stricker of Key West, FL, his children, Katy Hogan and her husband Matthew of Windsor Locks, Stephen Bascom, Molly Bascom, Anne Bascom, Lewis Bascom all of Liverpool, John Bascom (Brother Mayol, OSB) of Silver City, NM, a grandson, Killian Stricker, three brothers, Christopher Bascom of Holyoke, Jonathan Bascom of PA, Roy Bascom of Westfield, MA, two sisters, Pamela Johnston of TX, Cynthia Bascom of Greenfield, MA and nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to a Requiem Funeral Mass on Friday, Sept. 4, 2020 at 12 noon at St. Laurence Chapel, 1001 Foster Street Extension, South Windsor, CT. Calling hours will precede the Mass and be held at St. Laurence Chapel on Friday, from 11am – 12noon, with the rosary being recited at 11:30am.
