Obituary for Raffaele R. "Ralph" Rookey

Raffaele “Ralph” R. Rookey, 60, of Ellington, passed from his earthly journey unexpectedly on Wednesday Jan. 6, 2021. Born on January 3, 1961 in Springfield, MA to Phyllis (Carrieri) Rookey and the late Robert Rookey, and had resided in Ellington, as well as in New Hampshire and North Carolina. He was a graduate of Howell Cheney Tech, Class of 1979. Ralph was employed for many years with EthosEnergy TC, Chicopee, MA. (KBF) Kayak Bass Fishing, Ralph Rookey Photography, Professional Photographer Association of America, CT, NH, and New England, Chester Rod & Gun Club, Team Frank Cycling and State Line Cycles. Ralph was a volunteer firefighter for Enfield, Hockey player & coach from childhood to adult, coached in Keene, NH, loved his Hayabusa (motorcycle) until he grew old then he had this BMW 1700 GS, road cross country (FL & CA), through Canada, and Cabot Trail, he also fished throughout New England and was a member of Mount Carmel Society.
Ralph is survived by his wife of 33 years Beth (Rehmer) Rookey, a son Robert J. Rookey of Chicago, IL, his mother Phyllis Rookey of Enfield, his siblings; Roni Root & husband Dennis of Windsor, Felicia Hagopian & husband Doug of Windermere, FL and Mary Moss & husband Chris of Windsor Locks, several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his father Robert Rookey.
Calling hours are on Sunday, January 10, 2021 from 3:00 to 5:00 pm at Browne Memorial Chapels, Enfield. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 11, 2021 with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in St. Patrick Church, Enfield, followed by interment in St. Adalbert Cemetery, Enfield, mask and social distancing is required.
