Raymond Francis Lynch
Ray, 85 was born on October 9,1936 and passed peacefully from this life to eternal rest on January 25, 2022. He was born and raised in Portland Maine, one of 8 children. His stories of the waterfront and its characters were always a treat to here. He was a very proud graduate of Chevrus High School. Fortunate for him, the transition from pool halls to Chevrus earned him the chance to gain the affection of Mary Patricia Rand (Pat). They fell in love, married at 19, hopped on a bus and started a new life in Hartford Ct. They rented an apartment on Deerfield Avenue from the Notorangelo’s. A true Irish-Italian connection which became family for life.
Ray was very proud to work for 35 years at Pratt & Whitney where his specialty was determining the center of gravity in jet engines. He loved his family and made friends wherever he went. He loved UConn sports long before they were on the national scene. He loved Big East Basketball, was a Red Sox, Patriots and Celtics fan. He loved golf and fishing and teaching/ enjoying them both with his sons and grandsons. He was also a Golden Gloves Champ so there were plenty of bouts on the Kennedy Drive home. Raymond was a honorary lifetime and proud member of the Knights of Columbus Council 50, Enfield.
Waiting with God knows what on the other side are Pat, (daughter) Elizabeth “Betty” Anne and(son) Timothy “Big Tim”. Left to wonder just what those four are up to are two sons and their wives, John & Debbie, Patrick and Janise. He also leaves a son in law John Sheehan as well as 8 grandchildren,10 great grandchildren
A brother and sister, Jim and Judy Lynch, Maureen and Ronnie Piette, and a myriad of friends… This was a man of great Faith. Rest In Peace.
