Obituary for Regina (Jean) M. Berube (Uricchio)

Regina “Jean” M. (Uricchio) Berube died peacefully Saturday, August 12, 2023 at UCONN John Dempsey Hospital with her family by her side. She was born in Hartford to the late William and Katherine (Kirchner) Uricchio, and resided there until moving to Enfield in 1956. She grew up in Hartford’s North End and graduated from Hartford High School, class of 1950.
Jean was an active member of St. Bernard Church, where she taught CCD for many years, and where she was a member of the church choir as well as the rosary guild and prayer line. Dancing was one of her favorite pastimes. She was a great line dancer for over 30 + years, and spent many hours volunteering at the Enfield Senior Center. Jean worked at Hamilton Standard Federal Credit Union at the Bradley Airport for many years retiring in 1997.
She leaves her children, Michael D. Gage, Karen M. (Donald) Sagarino, and Sherry A. Gage (David Ouellette); her grandchildren, Jenna K. Sagarino, Andrew Gage, Matthew and Jonathan Hebert; her great grandchildren, Wolfgang, Odin, Liam and Payton; many nieces and nephews; and good friend, John “Jack” Scougall. She was predeceased by her husbands, Francis X. Gage and George Berube and her three brothers, William, Franklin, and Pasquale Uricchio.
Her family would like to thank the caring staff at both The Farmington Station and the nurses in the ICU at UCONN Health Center.
Visitation will be on Thursday, August 17, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Browne Memorial Chapels, 43 Shaker Rd., Enfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM at St. Bernard Church, 426 Hazard Ave., Enfield. Interment will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, King St., Enfield. Memorial donations can be made to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
