Obituary for Richard J. Lempitsky

Richard “Richie” J. Lempitsky, 71, a lifelong resident of Enfield, CT passed away on October 31, 2021, in hospice care at St. Francis Hospital, Hartford, CT. He was welcomed Home into the loving arms of his predeceased parents Chester and Helen Lempitsky formerly of Enfield, along with his nephew, Chester Lempitsky Jr. of Denham Springs, LA who recently passed away. Richie was a private man but welcomed invitations to family celebrations where he was always present, a testament of his love for his family. We will miss his lighthearted giggle in conversations with him. In his younger years, Richie lived life to its fullest; galivanting with close friends, many of whom he is now reunited, and riding his prized chopper motorcycle. A car enthusiast, he always possessed well-maintained and immaculately detailed automobiles, beginning long ago with his 1965 Acapulco blue Ford Mustang convertible. Always well-dressed, Richie enjoyed nights out at The Riverboat and most recently enjoyed the fun, fast-paced game of Keno. On special occasions, a gift recipient could easily identify the shiny foil wrapped gift from Richie, a self-employed owner of RJL & Associates, specializing in hot stamp foils. His knack for machinery and automation helped to keep a steady business in plastic and pad printing, inks, plates, fixtures and dies. Richie very much enjoyed golf, always striving for the hole in one and enjoying the comradery that followed at the 19th hole. All who had contact with Richie hold their own special memories of their time spent with him. He is survived by his brother, Chester Lempitsky Sr. and his wife Margaret of Enfield, his sister Elaine and her husband, George (Buddy) Lapan of Enfield, and a special cousin, Kathy Hood and her husband Harv of Marlborough, CT. He also leaves behind his nephews Ray and his wife Karen of Enfield, CT, Bryan and his girlfriend Lee-Ann Palko of Ellington, CT, Don and his wife Suzette of Phoenix, AZ, his niece Cindy and her fiancé Joseph Allen of Phoenix, AZ, and many grandnieces and nephews, whom he was a proud Great Uncle and in reciprocity they adored him as their GREAT Uncle. Always in our hearts, a beloved Brother, Uncle and Friend. Richard’s family will receive relatives and friends Sunday, November 7, 2021 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM. At Browne Memorial Chapels, 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of Richard’s life will be held 10:00 AM, Monday, November 8, 2021 at Holy Family Church. (Meet at Church) Interment will follow in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, 1 Cottage Grove Rd., Bloomfield, CT. In lieu of flowers Richard’s family request donations be made to the American Cancer Society PO Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718
