Richard Paul Spitler, Jr., 66 of W. Hartford entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, July 6, 2022. Richard was the beloved husband of nine years to Hiek Ly. Born May 20, 1956 in Pontiac, MI to the late Richard P. Sr, and Mary Lynn (Gross) Spitler. He had resided in W. Hartford for the past nine years, Enfield for 20 years, Baltimore, MD, and Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Richard was a graduate of Florida State University. Prior to retiring Richard was employed with The Hartford Insurance Co. for 40 years. He was a former member of the Shaker Bowl Bowling League and proud coach for many years in the Enfield Girls Softball League. He was also known by those who loved him as an avid coin collector, expert taste tester, storyteller, advise giver and devoted pet lover.
In addition to his wife Hiek, he is survived by two daughters Michelle Spitler of Enfield and Dorie Lynne and husband Aaron of Houston, TX, along with a loving granddaughter Audrey Lynne. He is also survived by his siblings Sandra Simms, Scott, Greg, Rob and William Tracy, as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Richard was predeceased by his 1st wife Audrey P. (Weisberg) Spitler (2001) and a sister Sharon Straughn.
Funeral services for Richard will be held on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, with calling hours from 9:00 to 11:00 am followed by a service at Browne Memorial Chapels, Enfield. Interment will take in the Hazardville Cemetery, Enfield.
