Robert K. Turner, 81, of Somers, CT entered into eternal rest peacefully on August 13, 2021. Robert is survived by his loving wife Darlyn (Smyth) of 55 years. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son Darrell Turner, his daughter Dyan Beaton & her husband Michael, a son-in-law Michael Muia, five grandchildren; Katelyn Muia, Smantha Muia, Justin Beaton, Camryn Beaton and Jack Muia, many loving nieces, nephews, friends and family. He was predeceased by his daughter Darby Muia, his parents, two brothers and two sisters.
Robert is a veteran of the Vietnam War having served proudly with the U.S. Navy. He was a self-employed truck driver for many years. In his spare time, Robert enjoyed driving his ’61 Corvette, going to many car shows, fixing cars but most of all spending time with his family and friends.
Friends are invited to gather for a time of sharing condolences and remembrances during calling hours on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Browne Memorial Chapels, Enfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Bernard Church, 425 Hazard Ave. Enfield (St. Jeanne Jugan Parish), Meet directly at church (Mask are required during the services). Interment with military honors will follow at New West Cemetery Main St. Somers, CT. Memorial donations in Robert’s name can be made to the Somers Fire Dept. 400 Main St. Somers, CT 0671.
