Obituary for Robert E. Berry, Sr.

Robert Emery Berry, Sr., 79, of Enfield, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, February 8, 2024. He was the beloved husband of 42 years to Carol (Sarno) Berry. Robert was born on February 21, 1944 in Stafford Springs, CT, the son of the late John Williams and Anna Berry Williams. He was a lifelong resident of Enfield, and a graduate of Enfield H. S. Robert then enlisted into the U.S. Army and served from 1966 to 1968 during the Vietnam War and then the Army Reserves until 1972. Prior to retiring in 2007 Robert was employed with Eli Lilly, Enfield for 15 years. He had a passion for fishing, and passed it onto his son, he spent many days and hours in his shed tinkering and listening to his old school music, He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially playing cards for hours.
In addition to his loving wife Carol, he is also survived by his beloved son Robert E. Berry, Jr. & wife Stephanie (Castle) of Enfield, his cherished grandson Darius K. Berry, along with a sister Karen W. Jones of Springfield, MA and a brother Winston Williams also of Springfield, MA, several nieces, nephews, and other family. As well as his father-in-law Silvio Sarno of Enfield, and his brother-in-law Chip Sarno and Tammy Allen of Feeding Hills, MA. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his sister Cheryl Williams Monts.
Robert’s family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, February 17, 2024 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm with a Prayer service to be held at 3:30 pm from Browne Memorial Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield, CT. Burial will be private at the convenience of family in St. Patrick’s King Street Cemetery, Enfield. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the DAV (Disabled American Veterans), P.O.
