Robert “Bob” A. Higley, 78, of Enfield, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at St. Francis Hospital & Medical Ctr., Hartford. He was the beloved husband of 38 years to Virginia (FitzGibbon) Higley. Robert was born on July 30, 1943 in East Hartford, CT to the late Harold and Elizabeth (Shick) Higley. Bob served our country honorably with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era from 1960 – 1963 and member of the American Legion, Tanguay Magill Post 80, Enfield. He was the proud owner and operator of RAH Construction for over 40 years. Bob was devoted to his family and friends and we’re sure that he is now in a better place riding his Harley with the wind at his back.
In addition to his wife Virginia, he is survived by his son Robert Allen Higley of Enfield, his siblings Albert Higley & Leslie, Mary Hagen & husband Robert, and Harold Higley, Jr & wife Kathi, along with many nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a brother Frank and a sister Joan.
Relatives and friends are invited to join his family during calling hours on Thursday, August 12, 2021 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Browne Memorial Chapels, Enfield. Funeral Services will take place Friday, August 13, at 10:00 am from Browne Memorial Chapels, Enfield. Interment will follow with military honors in the Hazardville Cemetery, Enfield. Memorial donations in his memory may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
