Obituary

Robert Lionel Lemieux, 82, of Enfield CT, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2019 after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Robert was born in Hartford, CT to Alfred and Delia Lemieux on October 16, 1936. He graduated from Windsor High School in Windsor, CT. He served in the Air Force in Reno, Nevada where he met his beloved wife, Patricia, was married on December 14, 1958 and moved back to Connecticut to start their life together, and made their home in Enfield. Together, Robert and Patricia created an amazing family including 5 children, 16 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
Robert was a self-proclaimed handyman and passed on his talents to his family and friends. He could fix anything and taught his family the value of having a strong work ethic. During the early years of his marriage he worked multiple jobs to make ends meet. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus in Somers, CT. He enjoyed many activities including fishing, caning chairs, and most importantly spending time with his family. In his later years, Robert would pick up old chairs on the side of the road and refinish them, re-cane them and pass them along to family and friends. Anytime you went to visit mem and pep, Robert would likely be doing something in his workshop. His family and friends learned so much from him and he will be deeply missed. He earned many nicknames throughout his life including “Bob”, “Flea”, “Pep”, “Pepe”, and of course “Dad”.

I will always remember fondly the sweetest man and best brother to my step father, Raymond. Their brotherly bond was so strong. They enjoyed each other, laughed a lot. There was a twinkle in their eye when they were together. Sending my deepest condolences to Aunt Pat and family. You will be in my thoughts this week. I know the pain you are going through. Xoxo-Gerri-Ann (Pat’s daughter)
