Obituary for Robert J. "Scooter Bob" Singer

Robert J. Singer, 90, of Enfield, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, November 16, 2022.
He was the beloved husband of the late Beverly (Smith) Singer (2010). Born on April 17, 1932 in Croghan, New York, a son of the late Florenze and Ethel (Turck) Singer. He had resided in Enfield for 60 years and in Greentown, PA before that. Bob served his country proudly with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Prior to retiring he was employed for 30 years with Pratt & Whitney Aircraft. Bob had a passion for motorcycles, bicycles, and especially scooters in later years, earning the nickname “Scooter Bob” he also loved his pug dogs.
Bob is survived by two daughters, Lori Mell & husband Joe of Wilbraham, MA, Kimberly Singer of Windsor Locks, CT and a daughter-in-law Lynn Singer of Ashford, CT, his beloved grandchildren; David Mell, Emily Mell, Amberley Singer Scully, and Nickolas Singer. He also is survived by a sister Janet Ahern of TN, Besides, his parents and wife, he was predeceased by a son Christopher Singer in 2014. The family would especially like to thank the staff at Evergreen Health Care Center for the wonderful, kind and compassionate care given to Robert.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorial donation be made to: Muscular Dystrophy Association, 161 N. Clark, Suite 3550 Chicago, Illinois 60601.
Relatives and friends may join his family during calling hours on Monday, November 21, 2022 from 10:00 to 11:00 am followed by a Prayer Service at Browne Memorial Chapels, Enfield. Interment with military honors will follow in the Hazardville, Cemetery, Enfield.
