Obituary for Rocco J. Weiss

Print
Rocco James Weiss, 33, of Enfield, passed from his earthly journey, on Friday, Oct. 5, 2018 at St. Francis Hospital & Medical Ctr., Hartford, CT, with loved ones at his side. Born on May 9, 1985 in Hartford, CT to Michael Weiss and Joy (DiNino) McInnis. Rocco grew up in East Windsor and was a graduate of East Windsor High School. He had resided in East Windsor and Enfield. Everything Rocco did was large. His love of food... BBQ and seafood. His love of foot ware... my lord the sneakers! His love of animals...especially his girl Gemma who shared his home, heart and soul. The TVs and cars...all large. But the largest thing about Rocco was his heart. His love for family and friends. His ability to make all he connected with feel he cared for them, understood what they were going through, and what they needed to feel better, to feel valued, to feel loved. He had an almost supernatural empathy with the outsider, the heart-hurt, the lost. He felt all these things himself. He longed to find his own family, his place in this world. He knew the pain of others, because it was his pain as well. He wrapped us all in his big arms and held us close, hugged hard, and let us all know he understood. Loved us and was there for each of us to help anyway he could. He was a sweet, kind, gentle soul. May he find in his next chapter of existence the peace, calm, and comfort he gave to all of us here before he had to leave.
Rocco is survived by his father, Michael Weiss & Sue George of Ellington, his mother & stepfather, Joy (DiNino) & Michael McInnis of Bartlett, TN, maternal grandfather, Larry DiNino of Enfield, aunts and uncles, Larry DiNino & wife, Evelyn of New Tazewell, TN, Stephen DiNino & wife Glenda of Houston, TX, and Pamela Shultz & husband Ted of Mesa, AZ, his cousins, Steven Cusson of Tolland, CT, Seve Weiss of Hinsdale, NH, Ashley Weiss of Woodruff, SC, Larry DiNino, III of Virginia Beach, VA, Anthony DiNino of Virginia Beach, VA, and Natalia Chappell of Chesapeake, VA. Rocco was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Frederick & Jospehine Weiss, his maternal grandmother, Joan DiNino and his uncle Steven Weiss.
