Ronald A. Mortensen, of Enfield, passed from his earthly journey at the age of 64, on Monday, May 6, 2019 in the comfort of his home with loved ones at his side. He was the beloved husband of 34 years to Sandra L. (Dunn) Mortensen. Ron was born on Oct. 24, 1954 in Hartford, CT to Doris (Perreault) Mortensen of Tucson, AZ and the late Robert Mortensen. He was a graduate of Enfield H. S. Class of ‘72 and resided in Enfield for the past 34 years. Prior to retiring Ron had been employed with Aero Space, Martin Brower and Fed Ex. His interest included hunting, hiking, traveling with his brother Daryl at the Grand Canyon, Mt. Washington and Mt. Katahin, time spent at his uncle’s farm in Upstate New York and spending time with the seven grandchildren and inspiring them. He was an avid Boston Red Sox, UCONN Huskies and N.E. Patriots fan.
In addition to his wife, Sandra he is also survived by his children; Alicia Mortensen of Enfield, Christopher & Michelle (Bryll) Mortensen of Suffield, Michelle (Mlynick) Peacock of Somers and Jocelyn Mlynick of Enfield, grandchildren; Jason & wife Brittany Peacock, Steven Peacock, Samantha Peacock, Alexis Marston, Tyler Marston, Ava Mortensen and Quinn Mortensen, his siblings; Daryl Mortensen & wife Cindy of Colchester, CT, Donna (Mortensen) Severin of Tucson, AZ and a brother-in-law Joseph Spezeski, a niece and godchild Elizabeth Mortensen along with several other nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Besides his father he was also predeceased by his siblings; Doreen (Mortensen) Spezeski and Denise (Mortensen) Peña. Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family.
