Obituary for Ruth J. (Innes) Rayna
Ruth J. (Innes) Rayna, 79, of Enfield, entered into eternal rest, on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at Baystate Medical Ctr. Springfield, MA. She was the beloved wife of 45 years to the late John J. Rayna. Ruth was born on Oct. 29, 1939 in Yonkers, NY, daughter of the late James Forrest and Mary (Killah) Innes and had resided in Enfield for the past 54 years and in Yonkers, NY before that. She was a graduate of Theodore Roosevelt H.S. Class of 1957, Yonkers, NY and Catherine Gibbs Business School. Ruth was employed for many years as an executive secretary with Mobil/Exxon Oil Exploration Division and retired from Burns, Brooks & McNeil Insurance Co. in Enfield. In her leisure time Ruth enjoyed Gardening, traveling, time spent with family, especially the grandchildren, Bible Study and fellowship with her church family. She was a member of the Calvary Presbyterian Church, Enfield, Women’s Quilting Club of Enfield and Gardening Club of Enfield.
Ruth is survived by her loving children, Nancy Jean Rayna of Missoula, MT, Peter John Rayna & wife Danielle D. of Fredericksburg, VA, and Cynthia June (Rayna) Plante & husband Christopher C. of Lynnwood, WA, her four beloved grandchildren, Sarah Grace Plante, Stephen Samuel Plante, Joshua James Plante and Danica Celeste Rayna, a niece, Ellen Susan (Innes) Hawkins of Houston, TX, along with several cousins and friends. She was also predeceased by a brother, Alan Forrest Innes, a nephew, James Alexander Innes, a niece, Irene Innes and an aunt, Ruth Killah.
Relatives and friends may gather with her family on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Browne Memorial Chapels, 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield, CT. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 24 with the procession forming at 9:00 a.m. at the funeral home to the Calvary Presbyterian Church 1518 King St. Enfield, for a 10:00 a.m. Church Service. Interment will follow in the Hazardville, Cemetery, Enfield, CT. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association CT Chapter 200 Executive Blvd., 4B Southington, CT 06489-1058 or the American Cancer Society P.O. Box 22478 Oklahoma City Ok 73123.
