Stella (Guminiak) Cybulski, 97 of Somers, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, Dec. 3, 2022. She was the beloved wife of 41 years to the late Alexander M. Cybulski (Asst. Warden of the CT Correctional Facilty). Born on February 22, 1925 in the Thompsonville sections of Enfield, a daughter of the late Michael and Zofia (Ciak) Guminiak. Stella had resided in Somers for the past 54 years and in Thompsonville prior to that for 43 years. She was a graduate of Enfield H.S. Class of 1943. Before retiring in 1962 Stella was employed by the former Bigelow-Hartford Carpet Mills as a clerk and Co-owner of Cybulski’s Restaurant for 16 years. In her sparetime she enjoyed gardening, reading novels, crafts: crocheting and knitting, sports: football, baseball & basketball, and a UCONN Huskies Women’s basketball fan.
Stella is survived by her loving daughter and son-in-law Lynn and Jerry Pasco of Somers, her nephews: Gary Guminiak & wife Bozena of Suffield, Glen Guminiak & companion Sue Warzyski of Enfield, John Guminiak of Enfield, and great nephews and niece: Alex Guminiak & wife Taylor of Suffield, Matt Guminiak & fiancé Evelyn Bujnowski of Suffield and Stephanie Guminiak Meloni & husband Douglas of Boston, MA and a great-great nephew Grayson Guminiak. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a brother John M. Guniniak (former First Selectman & Tax Collector of Thompsonville) & his wife Marie and a sister-in-law Felicia S. Cybulski.
Relatives and friends may gather with family during calling hours on Monday, Dec. 12, 2022 from 12:00 to 2:00 pm, followed by a Prayer Service at Browne Memorial Chapels, Enfield. Interment will then take place in St. Adalbert Cemetery, Enfield.
