Obituary for Susan A. "Sue" Sirko (DeLorenze)

Susan “Sue” A. (DeLorenze) Sirko, 67, beloved wife of John Sirko and a longtime resident of Enfield, passed away on Friday, May 5, 2023. She was born in Kensington, CT on August 25, 1955 to the late John and Helen (Budzinski) DeLorenze. She was a graduate of St. Thomas Aquinas H.S. in New Britain 1973. She and John married on January 31, 1975. The resided in New Britain and Kensington until they moved to Enfield in 1988. She worked as a veterinary assistant early in her career and later as a bookkeeper at various companies. She was a parishioner of Holy Family Church (St. Jeanne Jugan Parish in Enfield. Sue was a member of the Connecticut Bald Eagle Study Group and was known as the “Bird Lady” at the Parsons Road boat launch. Sue is survived by her husband John, a sister-in-law Sandra Dorr of Southington, several nieces and nephews and by her cat Carson. She was predeceased by her parents, her brothers Michael and Robert, and her sister Joanne.
Relatives and friends may gather on Thursday, May 11, 2023 from 9:00 to 11:00am at Browne Memorial Chapels, Enfield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Family Church (St. Jeanne Jugan Parish) Enfield at 11:30 am. Interment will take place in St. Patrick’s King Street Cemetery, Enfield. Memorial donations in Susan’s name to be made to the St. Joseph’s Indian School, P.O. Box 326 Chamberlain, SD 57326.
