Obituary for Therese M. Henzel Bernard (Richard)
On August 16th 2022 Therese Henzel Bernard (84 yrs old) went home to be with her husband Roger Bernard (predeceased) and her daughter Judy Ann Gastringer (predeceased). Terry retired after 30 plus years from Hamilton Sundstrand where she was a lead lady of the electronics dept. Terry will be truly missed by everyone who knew her. Terry made an impact on whoever she met wherever she was. What most Terry will be remembered for was her infectious laugh, her love of travel, and the love of putting on a good party. Terry was a family person. No one loved family more than she did, coming from a family of 9 brothers and sisters, many nieces and nephews. Terry celebrated every holiday, never forgetting a birthday. When Terry wasn’t busy with family and friends you could always find her at a UConn women’s basketball game or sitting in front of her 70” tv watching her girls.
Terry leaves behind her loving and devoted son Robert Henzel and wife Ellen, son James Henzel, brother Donald and wife Susan, 5 grandchildren Katherine Davis and husband Jeremy, Bethany Hany and husband Robert, Tara Ann Proulx, Kevin Henzel and wife Stacy and Charlie Henzel, and 9 great-grandchildren whom she loved to show off.
Robert and Ellen would like for everyone to know that Marina Ospina was Terry’s friend and had a huge part in making Terry’s life easier, we love her and appreciated her for all she did. Also, a huge thank you to all that helped in making Terry’s life comfortable and happy at the Residents of South Windsor Farms Assisted Living, without them Terry would not be able to be who she was.
Relatives and friends may gather with her family during calling hours on Sat. August 27, 2022 from 9:00 to 10:30 am at which time a Prayer Service will take place, followed by interment in St. Patrick’s King St. Cemetery, Enfield. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude PL, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
