Obituary for Thomas R. Emmons

Thomas Raymond Emmons, 67, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, December 8th 2020.
Born August 3rd, 1953, to Albert H. and Lucille (Forand) Emmons he was a lifetime resident of Enfield, CT.
He is predeceased by his parents and his son, Christopher A. Emmons. He was a devoted husband to his soulmate and wife of 42 years, Melanie, loving brother to Carol and Tracy Emmons, and father to Richard and Michael. He was a proud Papa to Grace and her siblings Cayden and Madeline, uncle to many nieces and nephews, family to their significant others, families, friends, and lucky to have a supportive church community.
Tom was a graduate of Enfield High School in 1971 and soon thereafter joined the Air Force, proudly serving until his honorable discharge as a Sergeant in 1976.
From there, he found a lifetime career working and developing lifelong friendships with his colleagues at Arburg, Inc. in Rocky Hill, CT.
A born again Christian, he proudly served as a Deacon at Bethany Baptist Church in East Windsor CT, spreading the word of Jesus by singing, teaching, and helping host the annual Vacation Bible School each summer, showcasing his ‘engineering’ skills by building fun experiences for the kids each year.
Never one to stand still, he loved music, gadgets, and always had at least a dozen home improvement projects in the works. A selfless man, he never hesitated to reach out and offer a lending hand to those in need, no matter what was required.
The family will receive those wishing to pay their respects prior to the service beginning at 10:00AM on Monday, December 14, at Bethany Baptist Church, 278 North Rd. East Windsor. Services will follow at 11:00AM with immediate internment with military honors in St Patrick’s Cemetery on King Street in Enfield.
Donations in his name can be made to the Camp Northfield Scholarship Fund at Northfield Bible Conference, 96 Wanamaker Rd. Northfield, MA 01360 or at campnorthfield.com.
