Wayne L. Michaels, 79, of Enfield, entered into Eternal Life on Monday September 24, 2018 at Baystate Medical Center, Springfield, MA. He was the beloved husband of 42 years to Jo-Ann R. (Mangiamele) Michaels. Wayne was born on November 19, 1938 in the Thompsonville section of Enfield to the late William and Helen (Kennedy) Michaels and was a life long resident. Prior to retiring Wayne was employed with Pratt & Whitney Aircraft for 30 years.
In his leisure time he was an avid reader in the younger days, had a passion of film and the arts, loved traveling and fishing. A proud grandpa his fondest moments were spending time with his grandson. He was a member of the Tanguay -Magill Post 80 American Legion, Enfield.
Besides his wife, Wayne is also survived by his two daughters, Shannon Michaels of Broad Brook, CT and Katelyn Michaels of Enfield, his cherished and adored 3 year old grandson Rocco Michaels. His siblings, Richard Michaels & wife Marie of Enfield, Bruce Michaels & wife Eileen of Enfield, Pamela Michaels of West Hartford, Marybeth Boucher & husband Jack of Enfield and Sean Michaels & wife Roberta of Powly, CA, along with many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his oldest brother William Michaels.
Relatives and friends may gather with his family on Friday, September 28, 2018 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, Enfield. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2018 with the funeral procession forming at 9:00 am from the funeral home to St. Patrick Church for a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Patrick’s King St. Cemetery, Enfield.
