Obituary for William "Billy" J. Creedon

Though he wants us to tell you he went kicking and screaming the entire way, William John Creedon left us peacefully on Friday, May 21st. Born and raised in Utica, NY, William, Willy-Bear, or just plain Bill was born September 25th, 1952, to Jim and Dee Creedon who, along with his older brother James (and his wife Diane) and younger sister Kathleen (and her husband Howard), withstood years of antics and tomfoolery until he moved to Enfield, CT. He was an engineer for the town of Enfield and eventually started his own firm, Creedon Associates.
A member of many local organizations and clubs, he was president of the Over the Hill Softball League, playing for the Ringside and then for the Greys Club, of which he was president, secretary, and treasurer at different times. He loved hunting, fishing, and anything outdoors that resulted in a nice long walk in the woods.
Bill leaves his adoring wife, Lorraine (Zavatsky Goulet). The two loved to travel, visiting local pubs and historic sites, including Creedon’s B&B in Ireland. Never afraid to share his musical talents and love of the dance, the six-foot-six leprechaun brought joy, laughter, and a harmonica (or two) everywhere he went, much to the embarrassment of his children.
Bill has two sons, Michael (with his wife Melissa) and James (with his wife Eliza), and two stepdaughters, Jeanne (with her husband Darren) and Anne (with her wife Gemetta), as well as 11 grandchildren: Lianna, Elvis, Kira, and Siobhan; Emmett and Amelia; Spencer and Cooper; and Carolyn, Collin, and Shayne. He also leaves nieces, nephews, a slew of cousins, and many friends.
A Service at the funeral home will take place on Thursday, May 27 at 5 pm. Calling hours will be from 2 pm until the time of the service at Browne Memorial Chapels, Enfield, CT. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Enfield People for People Warming Center or Loaves and Fishes.
