Antonio Torres, of Bronx, NY died at the age of 79 on Sunday December 11, 2011 at Montefiore Medical Center, in New York. He was born on Sept. 15, 1932 in Ponce, Puerto Rico, son of the late Antonio and Amparo (Alvarado) Torres. He resided in the Bronx for many years, where he was a self-employed grocery proprietor. Antonio is survived by his children Tony & Mary Torres of Enfield, Daniel & Rena of Enfield, Nolga & Abraham Carrasquillo of Puerto Rico, Wilma Torres of Bristol, Martha Brown of Hartford, Lisa Santiago of New London, Nelson Torres and Anthony Torres of Queens, NY, Geraldo Torres of East Hartford and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren and dear friend Erma Henry. He was predeceased by a daughter Judy and brother Carmelo.
His family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday (December 17, 2011) from 1:00 to 3:00 pm at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield, CT followed by a Memorial Service with Fr. Ed O’Brien officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
