Much like myself, I remember Marc as being "attendance challanged" in high school. It wasn't until we reconnected in recent years through Jen that learned the whole story. Marc's mom made him walk to school when he missed the bus (good mom) and I had no idea until he told me recently that my mom used to pick him up when he passed by our house and drive him to school. She never mentioned a thing about it when we were kids. Maybe she didn't realize it was a big deal, but for Marc to remember and share that with me years later shows you the kind of caring person he was. A simple gesture stayed with him all that time, and sharing the memory when I lost my mom made a difference to me now. If all people had a heart as big as his, it would be a better world.
