Stephen "Steve"  Kantor
Stephen “Steve” Kantor, 97, of Enfield entered into peace on Saturday March 5, 2016 at home. He was born in Thompson, New York, on Octorber 29, 1918, the son of the late Louis and Rosie Kovacs Kantor. He had resided in Enfield for 49 years, and prior to that Lee, MA, and Hartford. Steve was formerly employed as a machinist. He had been employed with Burnside Ice, Esquire Gas, Terry Steam Turbine, Kaman, Ingersoll Rand, Fairchild Aircraft and Clark Aiken. Steve served his country honorably with the United States Marine Corp during W.W. II and was a member of the Tanguay Magill Post 80 American Legion, Enfield. He enjoyed wood working, reading, gardening, yardwork and studying French.
Steve was the loving and devoted husband of the late Audrey Watts Kantor who predeceased him in 1999. He is survived by five daughters Lois Blakeslee and her husband Ralph of Granby, Sandra Dupuis and her husband David Glendale, AZ, Patricia Marquis of Enfield, Carol Cannata and her husband Seb of Wethersfield and Arlene Crowley and her fiancé William Evans of Enfield, seven grandchildren; Jessica, Lauren, Shawn, Marissa, Eric, Dylan and Kristin and ten great grandchildren Audrey, Dylan, Cayden, Alexis, Ethan, Jakob, Ava, Keira, Sadie and Ava. He is also survived by a sister Emma Heath of Grand Marais, MN, along with three nephews Allan Paul, Thomas and Dan Heath and a niece Donna Heath. He was predeceased by an infant son Stephen, four brothers Louis, John, Joe and Charlie Kantor and a sister Helen Kantor.
Funeral services for Stephen will be held on Thursday March 10, at 12:00 (noon) with Pastor Barry Andrusik officiating at Browne Memorial Funeral Chaples 43 Shaker Rd. Enfield, his family will receive relatives and friends prior to the service from 10:00 am until the time of service. Interment will follow with military honors in the Hazardville Cemetery, Enfield.
